ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />92-87 <br /> <br />BY: <br /> <br />Brown, Gallagher, Graham, <br />McBride, Salmon, Wendling <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing and directing the Mayor, on <br />behalf of the City of Lakewood to accept a job training grant <br />and enter into a contract with the Cuyahoga County Office of <br />Employment and Training under the auspices of the Cuyahoga County <br />Commissioners to provide for youth preemployment assessment for <br />the Youth Services Office of the City of Lakewood. <br /> WHEREAS, the Office of Employment and Training Administration under <br />the auspices of the Cuyahoga County Commissioners has advised the <br />City of its intent to contract with the Lakewood Youth Services for <br />the program year 1987 under Title IIA of the Job Training Partnership <br />Act (JTPA), and <br /> WHEREAS, said contract will be for youth preemployment assessment <br /> whereby approximately 50 youths will be served at a cost not to <br /> exceed $8,500, and <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing <br /> for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and <br /> welfare for the further reason that the funds can be made available <br /> to the City at the present time; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD,STATE OF OHIO: <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor for an~ on behalf of the City, be and he <br /> is hereby authorized to accept a job training grant and enter into a <br /> contract with the Office of Employment and Training Administration <br /> under the auspices of the Cuyahoga County Commissioners in the <br /> approximate amount of $8,500 for a youth assessment program for the <br /> Youth Services Office of the City. <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions <br /> of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this <br /> ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that <br /> all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees <br /> that resulted in such formal_action· were in meetings open to the <br /> public, <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all <br />members elected to Council, it shall t.ake effect and be in force <br />immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor; otherwise, <br />it shall take effect and be in force after the earliest period <br />allowed by law. <br /> <br />Approved ,'~~ -2~/ [ _~e~? <br /> <br />P~ENT' <br /> <br /> <br />
