ORDINANCE NO. 7-88 BY: <br /> Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, <br /> Gazzana, George, Graham, Wendling <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing the Mayor ex-officio <br />Director of Public Safety to enter into contract for the purchase <br />of seven new motor vehicles for the Division of Police, <br />Department of Public Safety. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Resolution No. 6204-87, Adopted November 2, <br />1987 and approved November 3, 1987 authorized and directed the <br />Mayor ex-officio Director of Public Safety to advertise for bids <br />for new motor vehicles for the Division of Police, Department of <br />Public Safety, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, present motor vehicles in the Division of <br />Police are of such age and condition as to require the <br />replacement of seven Police vehicles, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of Control has reviewed the bids <br />received and has determined that it is in the best interest of <br />the City to award the contract to Byers Chevrolet, 555 W. Broad <br />St. Columbus, Ohio, the lowest and best bid, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure <br />providing for the immediate preservation of public safety and <br />welfare and for the usual daily operation of a municipal <br />department; now therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, <br />STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor ex-officio Director of Public <br />Safety be and he is hereby authorized and directed to enter into <br />a contract with Byers Chevrolet, 555 W. Broad St. Columbus, Ohio <br />for the purchase of seven new motor vehicles plus related <br />equipment for the Division of Police. <br /> <br /> Section 2. The cost of seven new Police Motor Vehicles <br />shall be paid from the Capital Improvement Fund. <br /> <br /> Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal <br />actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of <br />this ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of this Council <br />and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action, <br />were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal <br />requirements. <br /> <br /> Section 4. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be <br />an emergency measure for reasons stated in the preamble hereof <br />and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of <br />all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in <br />force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor; <br />otherwise it shall take effect and be in force after the earliest <br />period allowed by law. <br /> <br />Adopted~~/// <br /> <br />Approved~/~/~, /,~ <br /> <br />President <br /> <br /> <br />
