ORDINANCE NO. 13-88 BY: Brown, Gallagher, Gazzana, <br /> <br /> · George,' Graham Wendlina <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing the Mayor',' for' and <br />on behalf of the City of Lakewood to accept as a gift to the <br />City of Lakewood the sum of $7,200 from the Lakewood Commission <br />on Aging, Inc. <br /> WHEREAS, Rego Supermarkets has awarded a grant in the <br />amount of $7 2r)r) to the Lakewood Commission on Aging, Inc. for <br />the purpose of continuing the grocery shopping service of the <br />Depar-tment on Aging for the senior' citizens of Lakewood, and <br /> WHEREAS, such grant is to be used specifically to <br /> continue the salary of a currently employed van driver part-time <br /> for- said grocery shopping service, and <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency <br /> measure providing for the usual daily operation of a municipal <br /> <br />department; now therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED <br />LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That <br /> <br />BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> <br />the Mayor be and he is hereby <br /> <br />authorized and directed to accept as a gift to the City of <br />Lakewood from the Lakewood Commission on Aging, Inc. the sum of <br />$7,200 which funds are to be used specifically by the City to <br />continue the salary of a van driver part-time for a period of <br />one year~ to assist in the grocery shopping service. <br /> ~ It is found and determined that all <br /> Sec t i on ~. <br />formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the <br />passage of this ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of <br />this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council <br />and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action <br />were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all <br />legal requirements. <br /> Section ~ That this ordinance is hereby declared to <br /> be an emergency measure for- the reasons stated in the preamble <br /> hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of <br /> two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take <br /> effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and <br /> approval by the Mayor'; otherwise, it shall take effect and be in <br /> force after the earliest period allowed by law. <br /> <br />PRESIDENT <br /> <br />CLERK <br /> <br /> <br />
