Please Substitute For Ordinance No. 15-88 <br />Placed On First Reading On March 7, 1988 <br />Placed On Second Reading on March 21, 1988 <br /> Amended. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 15-88 BY: Brown, Gallagher, Gazzana, George, Graham, Wendling <br /> <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing the Director of Public Works <br />to charge a fee for tennis playin9 during specified hours on the <br />tennis courts located in Lakewood Park and repealing Ordinance <br />No. 37-80, adopted May 19, 1980, and all other ordinances or <br />parts of ordinances inconsistent herewith. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the demand for the use of municipal tennis courts is <br />such that regulation thereof is mandatory, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure <br />providing for the usual dai ly operation of a ~municipal <br />department; now, therefore <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF <br />OHIO: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the Director of Public Works be and he is hereby <br />authorized to charge a fee for tennis playing on the Lakewood <br />Park tennis courts between the hours of 5:00 P.M. and 11:00 P.M. <br />on weekdays and between the hours of 12:00 Noon to 11:00 P.M. on <br />Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays, as follows: <br /> <br />$30.00 for a pass issued to a City of Lakewood <br />resident, which entitles such resident to use said <br />courts during the tennis season of the year for which <br />such pass is issued. <br /> <br />$60.00 for a pass issued to a non-resident of the City <br />of Lakewood, which pass entitles such non-resident to <br />use said courts during the tennis season of the year <br />for which such pass is issued. <br /> <br />The right of pass holders to the use of said courts <br />shall be subject to availability thereof for play. <br /> <br />$1.50 per hour shall be charged all persons not having <br />a pass, using said courts during the hours and on the <br />days mentioned in paragraph one of this section. <br /> <br />The Director of Public Works is further authorized to <br />charge a resident fee of $36.00, and a non-resident fee <br />of $50.00, for an individual or private instructional <br />course consisting of six (6) lessons (2 lessons per <br />week ofr three consecutive specified weeks) of one hour <br />each. <br /> <br />The Director of Public Works is further authorized to <br />charge a resident fee of $18.00, and a non-resident fee <br />of $25.00, for group instruCtional courses consisting <br />of six (6) sessions of one hour each. <br /> <br />The tennis season shall extend from April to October of <br />each year, the sPecific dates for opening and closing <br />of such season shall be fixeq bY the Director of Public <br />Works. <br /> <br /> <br />
