ORDINANCE NO. 35-88 <br /> <br /> BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, <br />Gazzana, George, Graham, Wendling <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing the Mayor for and <br />on behalf of the City of Lakewood to accept a gift to the City <br />of Lakewood in the amount of $100.00 from the Cleveland West <br />Kappa Delta Alumnae Association. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, child abuse is Kappa Delta's national <br />philanthropy and the Cleveland West chapter of Kappa Delta <br />has given the Youth Office's Prevention Program a gift in <br />the amount of $100.00 for the purpose of supplementing the abuse <br />prevention library and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the ordinance constitutes an emergency measure <br />providing for the immediate preservation of the public health, <br />safety and welfare and for the usual daily operation of a <br />municipal department; <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, <br />STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor be and he is hereby author- <br />ized and directed to accept a gift for the Youth Office of the <br />City of Lakewood in the sum of $100.00 from the Cleveland West <br />Kappa Delta Alumnae Association for the purpose of supplementing <br />an abuse prevention library. <br /> <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal <br />actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage <br />of this ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, <br />and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of <br />its committees that resulted in such formal action, were in <br />meetings open to the public. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared <br />to be an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble <br />hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two- <br />thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect <br />and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval <br />by the Mayor; otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force <br />after the earliest period allowed by law. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />PRE S I DENT <br /> <br />CLERK <br /> <br /> <br />
