ORDINANCE NO. 35-88 BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, Gazzana, George, Graham, Wendling AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing the Mayor for and on behalf of the City of Lakewood to accept a gift to the City of Lakewood in the amount of $100.00 from the Cleveland West Kappa Delta Alumnae Association. WHEREAS, child abuse is Kappa Delta's national philanthropy and the Cleveland West chapter of Kappa Delta has given the Youth Office's Prevention Program a gift in the amount of $100.00 for the purpose of supplementing the abuse prevention library and WHEREAS, the ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the usual daily operation of a municipal department; BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That the Mayor be and he is hereby author- ized and directed to accept a gift for the Youth Office of the City of Lakewood in the sum of $100.00 from the Cleveland West Kappa Delta Alumnae Association for the purpose of supplementing an abuse prevention library. Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action, were in meetings open to the public. Section 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two- thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor; otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed by law.
