ORDINANCE NO. 52-88 <br /> <br />BY: Brown, Chinnock, Galla§her, <br /> Gazzana, Wendling <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing and directing the Mayor <br />for and on behalf of the City of Lakewood to enter into a contract <br />with Planning Resources, Architects and Urban Planners, 140 Public <br />Square, Cleveland, Ohio 44114, to prepare a Downtown Area Master Plan <br />for the city. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the sum of $49,860 is available in 1987 Community <br />Development Block Grant Contingency Account for the preparation of a <br />Downtown Area Master Plan for the city, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the city is cUrrently involved in the redevelopment <br />of the downtown area located at Detroit: Avenue and Warren Road and <br />known as the Downtown Redevelopment Project, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has recommended that such a <br />Downtown Area Master Plan be completed prior to completing its review <br />of the Downtown Redevelopment Project and has recommended Planning <br />Resources be engaged to prepare said Master Plan, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure <br />providing for the immediate preservation of the public health and <br />welfare; now therefore, <br /> <br />OF OHIO: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized <br />and directed, for and on behalf of the City of Lakewood, to enter into <br />a contract with Planning Resources, Architects and Urban Planners, 140 <br />Public Square, Cleveland, Ohio 44114, to prepare a Downtown Area <br />Master Plan for the city, said contract to include a work program as <br />set forth in the company's June 6, 1988 proposal, attached hereto as <br />"Exhibit A" and made a part hereof. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the cost of the Preparation of the Downtown <br />Area Master Plan in the amount of $49,860 shall be paid from the 1987 <br />Community Development Block Grant Contingency Fund Account. <br /> <br /> Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal <br />actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this <br />ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that <br />all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees <br />that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the <br />public in compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br /> <br />
