7/5/88 Addendum; 1~o~16 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />55-88 <br /> <br /> BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, <br />Gazzana, Geor§e, Graham, Wendlin~ <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing and directing the Mayor <br />ex-officio Director of Public Safety to issue a permit to Geiger's <br />Haberdashery and Sporting Goods, located at 14710 Detroit Avenue; Cerny's Shoes, <br />located at 15002 Detroit Avenue; and Lakewood Juvehile Shoes, at 15000 Detroit, to <br />conduct a sidewalk sale on Thursday, July 7; Friday, July 8, Saturday, July 9; <br />Thursday, July 14, Friday, July 15, and Saturday, July 16, 1988, between the <br />hours of l0 a.m. and 6 p.m. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing <br />for the usual daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore, <br /> <br />OHIO: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF <br /> <br /> Section 1. That notwithstanding the provision of Section 1667. 17 <br />of the Regional Building Code and the provision of Section 901.18 of the <br />Streets and Public Services Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of <br />Lakewood, the Mayor, as e×~officio Director of Public Safety, be and he is <br />hereby authorized and directed to issue a permit to Geiger's Haberdashery and <br />Sporting Goods, located at 14710 Detroit Avenue; Cerny's Shoes, located at 15002 <br />Detroit Avenue; and Juvenile Shoes, located at 15000 Detroit Avenue, to conduct <br />a sidewalk sale in the City on Thursday, JUly 7, Friday, July 8, Saturday, <br />July 9; Thursday, July 14, Friday, July 15, and Saturday, July 16, 1988, between <br />the hours of lO:O0 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. No more than fifty per cent (50%) of <br />the sidewalk width abutting participating stores shall be occupied by <br />displays, which.occupied portion of the sidewalk shall be that portion <br />immediately adjacent to the principal structure. If the sidewalk to the curb <br />is le~s than eight feet (8'), a minimum of four feet (4') of the sidewalk to <br />th~ curb must remain unoccupied by the display for pedestrian traffic. <br /> <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of <br />this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were <br />adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations <br />of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal <br />action were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal <br />requirements <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this' ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided <br />it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds (2/3) of all members of <br />Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption <br />and approval by the Mayor; otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force <br />after the earliest period allowed by law. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br /> <br />
