ORDINANCE No. 92-90 <br /> <br />BY: Boscia, Gallagher, Gazzana, <br /> George, Graham, Roth, Smith <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE creating positions and fixing salaries <br />of the annual salaried sworn personnel in the Division of Police in <br />the Department of Public Safety except the Police Chief, effective <br />January 1, 1991, and repealing all other ordinances or parts of <br />ordinances inconsistent therewith. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure <br />providing for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety, <br />and welfare, and for the usual daily operation of a municipal <br />department in that in the interest of the public welfare and safety, <br />it is necessary to create positions and fix the compensation <br />employees; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE <br />OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Sec~ion~i. In the Division of Police, Department of Public <br />Safety, Grade 1 Patrolmen shall consist of Patrolmen who have <br />continuously served in the Division of Police four (4) full years or <br />who, in the judgment of the Director of Public Safety, have acquired <br />equivalent training and acquired experience in the Division of Police <br />in some other City. Grade 2 Patrolmen shall consist of Patrolmen who <br />have served continuously in the Division of Police for more than two <br />(2) years but less than four (4) years. Grade 3 Patrolmen shall <br />consist of Patrolmen who have served in the Division of Police for <br />less than two (2) years. Provided, however, that there shall be no <br />increase in salary to any employee by reason of the said grouping <br />until certified by the Director of Public Safety. <br /> <br /> Section 3. Notwithstanding the other provisions contained <br />in this ordinance and in consideration of the Collective Bargaining <br />Agreement referred to above, in addition to the salary specified <br />herein, any sworn personnel who are exempt from representation by the <br />recognized bargaining unit shall be entitled to any and all benefits <br /> <br /> <br />
