BELLE AVE PARKING GARAGE
SAI ~89059
Page 1

SCOPE OF REPORT

The purpose of this report is to evaluate the structural in-
tegrity of the existing parking structure in its present condi-
tion. This evaluation is based On visual observations only with
the assumption that the structure was initially designed properly
and constructed in accordance with the original design documents
by Ramp Engineering Associates drawings S6 to $29. Included in
this report is a description of recommended repairs, order of im-
portance and a general scope of estimated repair cost. Suggested
maintenance recommendations are also addressed.

This report is intended to generally define the scope of
rehabilitation work required and to establish a preliminary es-
timate of costs. Prior to any'actual construction, additional
engineering services and field inspections would be required to
produce a set of construction documents.

BACKGROUND

The 15 + year old parking s. tructure consists of (5) structurally
supported levels (top level being the roof) plus a slab on grade
level. Four stair/elevator towers are located at the corners of
the garage with only the southern (2) towers open for use. The
structure itself consists of precast concrete tee beams and
columns. Tee beams are typically prestressed; although some
beams along the east and west driving aisles are post tensioned.
Topping slab is 3" cast in place concrete typically except for
the east and west driving aisles where a 6 1/2" post tensioned
slab is utilized. Stair 'towers consist of reinforced concrete
walls faced with brick along with poncrete stairs.

The parking structure foundati'ons typically consist of caissons
bearing on shale but the stair 'towers and adjacent ornamental
columns utilize a concrete.mat and spread footings bearing, on
soil. The garage contains an expansion joint separating the
structure into an east and west segment. The upper-most parking
level has roofing material over the concrete slabs.

A-6
