Roofing surface should be inspected <br />periodically for leaks and Wearing. Expansion joints should be <br />monitored for proper function and sealing. Decks should be hosed <br />down regularly particularly in the spring and winter as weather <br />permits to minimize salt accumulations and penetration. Masonry <br />caulked joints should be maintaiaed to prevent water infiltra- <br />tion. <br /> <br />CONCLUSIONS <br /> <br />To insure continued service life certain repairs are necessary. <br />The final decision on the extent of repairs can only be addressed <br />by the owner. Depending on the budget items 1, 2 and 3 are <br />necessary. Options are available within these three items. Item <br />#4 (sealing of decks) while not critical is the best way to in- <br />sure continued service from the deck surfaces.
