ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />v~zamn ~um~lllUln voK O~DINANCE NO. 25-92 PLACED ON FIRST <br />RE~ING 4/6/92 & SECOND READIN~ 4/20/92 and that original, l' <br />pul .shed with this evening's cket. <br /> 25-92 BY: Boscia, Gallagher, George, <br /> Gibbons, Roth, Seelie, Smith <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to supplement the Business Regula- <br />tion Code of the Codified Ordinances by enacting new Chapter 774 to <br />regulate residential child day care services in the City of Lakewood. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Business Regulation Code of the Codi- <br />fied Ordinances of the City of Lakewood be supplemented by the enact- <br />ment of new Chapter 774 to read as follows: <br /> <br />CHAPTER 774 <br /> <br />RESIDENTIAL CHILD DAY CARE SERVICES RESOURCE REGISTRY. <br /> <br />774.01 RESIDENTIAL CHILD DAY CARE SERVICES RE- <br />SOURCE REGISTRY ESTABLISHED. <br /> <br />(a) There is hereby established a Residential <br />Child Day Care Services Resource Registry in and <br />for the City of Lakewood which shall include <br />therein the names, addresses and telephone numbers <br />of persons that offer child day care services from <br />a residential premises in the City of Lakewood <br />.provided the minimum standards and requirements <br />set forth in this Chapter are met. The Provider <br />of the child day care services may also include in <br />the Registry any valid credentials or certifica- <br />tions possessed by the Provider. <br /> <br />(b) The Residential Child Day Care Services <br />Resource Registry shall be maintained in such <br />locations at City Hall as shall be determined by <br />the Mayor, and shall be available for inspection <br />by any person during business hours of the City. <br />The Registry shall be maintained and updated by <br />the Coordinator of Lakewood Child Care Services. <br /> <br />(c) Inclusion of any Provider in the Residential <br />Child Day Care Services Resource Registry shall <br />not constitute, directly or indirectly, certifica- <br />tion, approval, recommendation as to suitability, <br />evaluation or adequacy or suitability, or assump- <br />tion of responsibility for compliance, regulation <br />or education of any day care Provider, nor for any <br />loss, injury, or damages which may arise out of or <br />relate to the placement of any child with a day <br />care Provider, by the City, its officials, offi- <br />cers, employees or its agents. <br /> <br />774.02 MINIMUM PROVIDER REQUIREMENTS. <br /> <br />(a) "Provider" means an adult person or persons <br />who provide child day care services. <br /> <br />(b) The Provider shall be a permanent resident of <br />the premises and at least eighteen (18) years of <br />age with a minimum of six (6) months experience in <br />caring for children ages fourteen (14) years or <br />younger. Said experience may be obtained either <br />as a parent, from employment, day care center <br />observation, volunteer service, eighteen (18) <br />hours of in--service training, or from some other <br />similar activity. <br /> <br /> <br />
