ORDINANCE No. <br /> <br />33,92 <br /> <br />By:Boscia, Gallagher, George, <br /> Gibbons,~Roth, Seelie, Smith <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE creating positions and fixing salaries <br />of the annual salaried sworn personnel in the Division of Police in <br />the Department of Public Safety except the Police Chief, effective <br />January 1, 1992, and repealing all other ordinances or parts of <br />ordinances inconsistent therewith. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure <br />providing for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety, <br />and welfare, and for the usual daily operation of a municipal <br />department in that in the interest of the public welfare and safety, <br />it is necessary to create positions and fix the compensation <br />employees; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. Positions are hereby created and the compensation <br />of the annual salaried, sworn personnel in the Division of Police, <br />Department of Public Safety, with the exception of the Chief of <br />Police, shall be as follows effective January 1, 1992, pursuant to the <br />terms of the agreement between the City of Lakewood and Western <br />Cuyahoga Lodge No. 25, Fraternal Order of Police, Lakewood Division. <br /> <br /> DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY - DIVISION OF POLIC.~; <br /> <br />Captain <br />Lieutenant <br />Sergeant <br /> <br />$52,658.00 <br /> 46,600.00 <br /> 42,364.00 <br /> <br />Patrol Officer $29,662.00 - 38,056.00 <br /> Detailed as Investigator 38,056.00 <br /> Detailed as Safety <br /> Education Officer or having <br /> 22 years of service 36,978.00 <br /> Grade 1 ~ 35,902.00 <br /> Grade 2 32,782.00 - 34,342.00 <br /> Grade 3 29,662.00 - 31,222.00 <br /> <br /> Section 2. In the Division of Police, Department of Public <br />Safety, Grade 1 Patrolmen shall consist of Patrolmen who have <br />continuously served in the Division of Police four (4) full years or <br />who, in the judgment of the Director of Public Safety, have acquired <br />equivalent training and acquired experience in the Division of Police <br />in some other City. Grade 2 Patrolmen shall consist of Patrolmen who <br />have served continuously in the Division of Police for more than <br />two (2) years but less than four (4) years. Grade 3 Patrolmen shall <br />consist of Patrolmen who have served in the Division of Police for <br />less than two (2) years. Provided, however, that there shall be no <br />increase in salary to any employee by reason of the said grouping <br />until certified by the Director of Public Safety. <br /> <br /> Section 3. Not withstanding the other provisions <br />contained in this ordinance and in consideration of the Collective <br />Bargaining Agreement referred to above, in addition to the salary <br />specified herein, any sworn personnel who are exempt from <br />representation by the recognized bargaining unit shall be entitled to <br />any and all benefits afforded the members of such bargaining unit. <br />Such provision shall apply to the Chief of Police and the Executive <br />officer, save for overtime benefits to which the Chief of Police shall <br />not be entitled. <br /> <br /> <br />
