ORDINANCE NO. 97-92 BY: Boscia, Gallagher, George, Gibbons, Roth, Seelie, Smith AN ORDINANCE to amend the Streets, Utilities and Public Services Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood by amending Section 911.01 authorizing the Director of Public Works to establish a schedule of rates and collection fees for the pick up and disposal of non-residential refuse. WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood is desirous of continuing refuse pick-up and disposal for non-residential customers, and WHEREAS, non-residential customers are capable of generating refuse in excess of the eight container (32 gallon) limit, and WHEREAS, a fee for unit pick-up will encourage non-residential recycling which will reduce the amount of material in the waste stream pursuant to HB 592; now, therefore BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That Section 911.01 of the Streets, Utilities and Public Services Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood now reading as follows: 911.01 HOURS OF OPERATION; AUTHORITY OF DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS. (a) The Lakewood incinerator, located at 12920 Berea Road shall be open for collections between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and shall be closed on Saturday, Sunday and legal holidays. (b) The Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to vary the hours of operation as he deems necessary and to establish limits on both the quality and quantity of refuse, garbage and other materials brought to the Lakewood incinerator. (c) The Director is hereby authorized to establish rules and regulations for the pick up and collection of refuse, garbage and other materials by the Service Department. shall be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: 911.01 HOURS OF OPERATION; AUTHORITY OF DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS.
