PLEASE SUBSTITUTE FOR ORDINANCE #6-93 <br />PLACED ON FIRST READING & REFERRED TO <br />COMMITTEE OF WHOLE ON 3/15/93. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 6-93 <br /> <br />BY: Gallagher, George, Gibbons, <br /> Roth, Smith. <br /> <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing the Mayor (Director of Public <br />Safety), the Director of Public Works, the Director of Law, the Director <br />of Finance, and/or Procurement Officer to advertise for bids and to <br />enter into a contract or contracts for the purchase of certain operating <br />supplies or services, professional services, capital improvements and <br />replacement of equipment for the City of Lakewood as authorized by the <br />1993 Appropriation Ordinance with the lowest and best bidder or bidders <br />as provided by law. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure in that it <br />provides for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and <br />welfare and for the usual daily operation of a municipal department, as <br />delay could impair the City's ability to provide necessary services in a <br />timely manner; now, therefore; <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the Mayor (DireCtor of Public Safety), the Director <br />of Public Works, the Director of Law, the Director of Finance, and/or <br />the Procurement Officer be and are hereby authorized and directed to <br />enter into a contract or contracts for the following operating supplies <br />or services, professional services, capital improvements and replacement <br />of equipment as authorized by the 1993 Approporiation Ordinance with the <br />lowest and best bidder or bidders after advertisement, whenever such <br />advertisement and bidding is required by law: <br /> <br />I. DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br /> <br />Supplies, materials and/or services for the construction, <br />maintenance, rebuilding and/or repair of public <br />properties, streets,' sidewalks, sewers, catch basins, <br />buildings, vehicles and/or equipment, including the <br />following: <br /> <br />1. Curb replacement labor and materials <br />2. Contractor Services for Concrete Work <br />3. Materials for Street Repair <br />4. Road Surface Treatments <br />5. Asphalt and/or Services for street & Parking Lot <br /> Resurfacing <br />6. Pavement Planing <br />7. Parking Lot Improvements <br />8. Sanitary & Storm Sewer Reconstruction <br />9. Sewer Replacement - Various Locations <br />10. Southwest & North/Central Drainage System <br /> Improvements <br />11. Sewer & Catch Basin Repair & Maintenance Services <br />12. Telephone/Communication System Maintenance Contract <br />13. Parks Maintenance Contracts <br />14. Water Main Replacements <br /> a. Edgewater Dr. (Nicholson to Parkside) <br /> b.
