Insurance Rate Map of the Flood Insurance <br />Study. Floodways may. also be delineated <br />in other sources of flood information. <br />If the proposed development is located <br />within a designated floodway, assure that <br />the encroachment provision of Section <br />1308.20(a) is met. <br /> <br />(b) Information to be Obtained and Maintained. <br /> <br />Where base flood .elevation data are utilized <br />within areas of special flood hazard on the <br />City of Lakewood's Flood Insurance Rate Map, <br />regardless of the source of such data, the <br />following provisions apply: <br /> <br />(1) Obtain and record the actual elevation <br /> (in relation to mean sea level) of the <br /> lowest floor, including basement, of all <br /> new or substantially improved structures, <br /> and whether or not such structures <br /> contain a basement; <br />(2) For all new Or substantially improved <br /> floodproofed structures: <br /> <br />(i) verify and record the actual <br /> elevation (in relation to mean sea <br /> -level) to which the structure was <br /> floodproofed; and, <br />(ii) maintain the floodproofing <br /> certifications required in Section <br /> 1308.12(c). <br /> <br />(3) <br /> <br />Maintain for public inspection all <br />records pertaining to the provisions of <br />this ordinance. <br /> <br />(c) Alteration of Watercourses. <br /> <br />(1) <br /> <br />Notify adjacent co~ities and the Ohio <br />Department of Natural Resources, Division <br />of Water, 'prior to any alteration or <br />relocation of a watercourse, and submit <br />evidence of such notification to the <br /> <br />Federal ~mergency Management Agency. . & <br />watercourse is considered to be altered <br /> <br /> if any change occurs within its <br />(2) Maintain --gineering documentation <br /> r~Cluired in Section 1308.12(c) that the <br /> flood carrying capacity of the altered or <br /> relocated portion of said watercourse <br /> will not be diminished. <br />(3) Require that necessary maintenance will <br /> be provided for the altered or relocated <br /> portion of said watercourse so that the <br /> flood carrying capacity will not be <br /> diminished. <br /> <br />Intergretation of Flood Boundaries. <br /> <br />Make interpretations, where needed, as to the <br />exact location of the boundaries of the areas <br />of special flood hazard (for example, where <br />there appears to be a conflict between a <br />mapped boundary and actual field conditions). <br /> <br />2O <br /> <br /> <br />
