<br />\ . <br />PLACED ON 1st Reaûing & \.......Jferred to <br />PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE on 12/4/95. <br /> <br />PLACED on 2nd Reading 1/2/96. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />84-95 <br /> <br />BY: Boscia, Corrigan, Flannery, <br />George, Roth, Seelie, Smith <br /> <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authori zi ng and di recti ng the Di rector of <br />Public Works to engage architectural and/or engineering firms to provide <br />profess; ona1 servi ces ; n the des; go and preparati on of spec; ficati Ons and <br />contract administration and to advertise for bids and enter into a contract <br />wi th the lowest and best hi dder for Sewer System Improvements i Ii accordance <br />with the Administrative Code of the City of Lakewoodj contracts not to exceed <br />the specified amounts shown without separate Resolution of Council. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, an emergency exists to provide for the immediate <br />preservation of the public property, health and safety, and to provide for the <br />usual daily operation of municipal departments in that certain capital <br />i mprov,ements proj ects are to be undertaken in 1996 in accordance wi th the <br />Capital Improvement Plan for fiscal year 1996, now <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO <br /> <br />Section 1. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized <br />and di rected to engage architectural and/or engi neeri n9 fi rms to provi de <br />professi anal servi ges in the des; gn and preparatinn of speci fi cati ons and <br />contract administration and to advertise for bids and enter into a contract <br />with the lowest and best bidder in accordance with the Administrative Code of <br />the City of lakewood for the fo 11 owi ng Sewer System Improvements J contracts <br />not to exceed the specified amounts shown, except as hereinafter provided: <br /> <br />Warren Road Improvements <br />N.P.D.E,S. Compliance <br />Homewood Drive Sewer Improvement <br /> <br />$425,DOO <br />70,000 <br />45,000 <br /> <br />Section 2. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized <br />and di rected to enter i lito contracts as set forth above il1 amounts not to <br />exceed the specified amounts without further action from Council; and to enter <br />into contracts in excess of specified amounts only upon consent of Council <br />evidenced by adoption of a resolution specifying the authorized amount. <br /> <br />Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of <br />this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were <br />adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of <br />this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action <br />Were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br />Section 4.
