<br />PLACED ON 1st Reading & Referred to <br />PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE on 12/4/gS. <br /> <br />PLACED ON 2nd READING on 2/5/96. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 87-95 <br /> <br />BY: <br /> <br />Boscia, Corrigan, Flannery, <br />George, Roth, Seelie, Smith <br /> <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authori zi ng and di recti ng the Di rector of <br />Publi c Works to engage architectural and/or engi neeri og fi rrns· to provi de <br />professional services in the design and preparation of specifications and <br />contract ifdministration and to advertise for bids and enter into a contract <br />with the lowest and best bidder for Urban Forestry Improvements in accordance <br />with the Administrative Code of the City of Lakewood, contracts not to exceed <br />thé specified amounts shown without separate Resolution of Council. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, an emergency exists to provide for the immediate <br />preservatiqn of the public property. health and safety, and to provide for the <br />usual daily operation of municipal departments in that certain capital <br />improvements proj ects are to be undertaken in 1996 ; n accordance wi th the <br />Capital Improvement Plan for fiscal year 1996, now <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOO, STATE OF OHIO <br /> <br />Section 1. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized <br />and directed to engage architectural and/or engineering firms to provide <br />professional services in the design and preparation of specifications and <br />contract administration and to advertise for bids and enter into a contract <br />with the lowest and best bidder in accordBnce with the Administrative Code of <br />the City of Lakewood for the following Urba~ Forestry Improvements. contracts <br />not to exceed the specified amounts shownJ except as hereinafter provided: <br /> <br />City Reforestation <br /> <br />$BO,OOO <br /> <br />Section 2. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized <br />and di rected to enter into contracts as set forth above in amounts not to <br />exceed the specified amounts without further action from Council; and to enter <br />into contracts in excess of specified amounts only upon consent of Council <br />evidenced by adoption ofa resolution specifying the authorized amount. <br /> <br />Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of <br />this Council concerning and 'relating to the passage of this ordinance were <br />adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of <br />this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action <br />were in meetings open to the public in complíance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br />Section 4.
