ORDINANCE NO. 24-96 <br /> <br />PLACED ON 1ST READING ~ REFERRED fO <br />PUBLIC WORKS COb~ITTEE ON 6/17/96. <br /> <br />BY: Corrigan, Flannery, George, <br /> Roth, Seelie, Smith <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing and directing the Mayor (Director <br /> of Public Safety), the Director of Public Works, the Director of Law, the <br /> Director of Finance, and/or the Procurement Officer to advertise for bids <br /> and enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder in accordance with <br /> the Administrative Code of the City of Lakewood for the installation of an <br /> exhaust ventilation system at Fire Station No. 3, contracts not to exceed <br /> the specified amount shown without separate Resolution of Council. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, an emergency exists to provide for the immediate <br /> preservation of the public property, health and safety, and to provide for <br /> the usual daily operation of municipal departments in that the installation <br /> of a ventilation system is necessary to improve the health and safety <br /> conditions at Fire Station No. 3, now <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor (Director of Public Safety), the Director <br /> of Public Works, the Director of Law, the Director of Finance, and/or the <br /> Procurement Officer are hereby authorized and directed to advertise for bids <br /> and enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder in accordance with <br /> the Administrative Code of the City of Lakewood for the following <br /> improvement at Fire Station No. 3, contracts not to exceed the specified <br /> amount shown, except as hereinafter provided: <br /> <br /> Ventilation System $10,000 <br /> Section 2. That the Mayor (Director of Public Safety), the Director <br />of Public Works, the Director of Law, the Director of Finance, and/or the <br />Procurement Officer are hereby authorized and directed to enter into <br />contracts as set forth above in amounts not to exceed the specified amounts <br />without further action from Council; and to enter into contracts in excess <br />of specified amounts only upon consent of Council evidenced by adoption of a <br />resolution specifying the authorized amount. <br /> <br /> Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of <br />this Council concerning and relating to the passage.of this ordinance were <br />adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations <br />~f this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal <br />action were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal <br /> <br />requirements. <br /> <br /> Section 4.
