<br />.~ <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 31-96 <br /> <br />BY': Corrigan, Flannery, <br />George, Roth, Seelie, Smith <br /> <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE amending section 333.03 of the <br />Traffic code of the codified Ordinances of the city of Lakewood. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Ohio Department of Transportation changed the <br />speed limit on interstate freeways in the state of Ohio from <br />fifty-five (55) miles per hour to sixty (60) miles per hour; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the city's Traffic laws regulating the speed limit <br />for,vehic~es traveling on interstate freeways should be <br />consistent with statelaw¡and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this ordinance is an emergency m~asure which is <br />necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, <br />property,hea¡th, safety and welfare in the city. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY of LAKEWOOD, STATE <br />OF OHIO: <br /> <br />section 1. That section 333.03 of the Traffic Code of the <br />Codified Ordinances of the city of Lakewood, now reading as <br />follows: <br /> <br />333.03 MAXIMUM SPEED LIMITS; ASSURED CLEAR DISTANCE AHEAD. <br /> <br />(a) <br />(b) <br /> <br />(1) <br />(2) <br />(3 ) <br />(4) <br />(5) <br /> <br />(6) Fiftv~five milesner hour at all times on freeways <br />with paved shoulders inside the Municipality, <br />other than freeways as provided in paragraph (b) <br />(7) hereof; <br /> <br />(7) <br /> <br />(c) <br />(d) <br />(e) <br />(f) <br />(g) <br />(h) <br />(i) <br />(j) <br />(k) <br />(1) <br /> <br />shall be and the same is hereby amended: <br /> <br />"7 ~:' <br />
