NO. 38-97 <br /> <br />BY: Boscia, Corrigan, FlannerY~ <br /> George, Roth, Smith <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing and directing the Mayor (Director of <br />Safety), 'the Director of Public Works, the Director of Law, the Director of Finance, and/or the <br />Procurement Officer to enter into a contract in accordance with the Administrative Code of the <br />City of Lakewood for the repair of a fire aerial ladder truck, contract not to exceed the specified <br />amount shown without separate Resolution of Council. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, an emergency exists to provide for the immediate preservation of the public <br />properS, health and safety, and to provide for the usual daily operation ofrnunicipal departments <br />in that the repair of the fire aerial ladder truck is necessar~ to equip the Fire Department <br />adequately, now <br /> <br />BE rr ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO; <br /> <br /> Section I. That the Mayor (Dire~or of Safety), the Director of Public Works, the <br />Director of Law, the Director of Finance, and/or the Procurement Officer am hereby authorized <br />to enter into a contract in accordance with the Administrative Code of the City of Lakowood for <br />the following improvement, contract not to exceed the specified amount shown, except as <br />hereinaflm- provided: <br /> <br />Fire Aerial Ladder Track <br /> <br />$20,000 <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Mayor (Director of Safety), the Director of Public Works, the <br />Dira~or of Law, the Dire~or of Finance, and/or the Procurcment Officer am h~reby authorized <br />and dire'mi to enter into a contract as set forth above in an amount not to exceed the specified <br />amount without further action from Council; and to enter into a conu~ct in excess of specified <br />amount only upon consent of Council evidenced by adoption of a resolution specifying the <br />authorized amount. <br /> <br /> S~tiou 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council <br />concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of this <br />Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of its committees that resulted in such <br />formal a~ion were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br /> Section 4. This ordinance is hereby declared an emergency measure for the reasons <br />stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the affmmative veto of two-thirds of ail <br />members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption <br />and approval by the Mayor;, otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force arm' the earliest period <br />allowed by law. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />Pmsident <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />
