ORDINANCE NO. 1:98 BY: Corrigan, Flannery, George, <br /> Roth, Seelie, Skindell, Smith <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to amend Section 121.04 of the <br />Administrative Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood relating to <br />Council Committees. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Council hereby determines that it could more effectively <br />exercise its legislative powers and, thus, better serve the residents of the City of <br />Lakewood by consolidating the current Safety & Traffic and Environmental Committees <br />into the new Public Safety Committee; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing <br />for the immediate preservation of the public welfare for the reason that such proposed <br />changes are needed immediately for the proper operation of the affairs of Council; now, <br />therefore, <br /> <br />BE It ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That Section 121.04 of the Administrative Code of the Codified <br />Ordinances of the City of Lakewood now reading as follows: <br /> <br /> 121.04 COMMITTEES <br /> At no later than the first regular meeting of Council after its organization, <br />the President of Council shall appoint standing committees on the following named <br /> <br />subjects: <br /> (a) <br /> (b) <br /> (c) <br /> (d) <br /> (e) <br /> (f) <br /> (g) <br /> <br />Finance; <br />Housing; <br />Health & Human Services; <br />Safety & Traffic; <br />Rules & Ordinances; <br />Public Works; and <br />Environmental. <br /> <br /> The President shall also appoint such other committees as he deems <br />necessary for the efficient handling of Council business. <br /> <br /> All Council committees shall consist of two or three members of Council, <br />as determined by the President, except Finance, which shall consist of three members. <br />The report of the chairman of any committee consisting of only two members shall be <br />considered the majority report of the committee in every case. Minodty reports may be <br />filed by the nonassenting member. The President of Council shall be an ex-officio <br />member of all committees except those on which he is a designated member. <br /> <br />shall be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />121.04 COMMITTEES <br /> <br />(b) . . . <br />(c) . . . <br />(d) Public Safety; <br />(e) Rules & Ordinances; and <br />(f) Public Works. <br /> <br /> <br />
