PLACED ON ;D READING ON 10/5/98. <br /> <br />ORDNANCE NO. 47- 98 <br /> <br /> BY: Corrigan, Flannery, <br />George, Roth, Seelie, Skindell, Smith <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE fixing the compensation of the Clerk of the Lakewood <br />Municipal Court, the time and method of Payment. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Municipal Court Act, Revised Code Section 1901.31 provides that the <br />legislative a~hority of this municipality shall fix the annual salary of the Clerk of Courts, and <br /> <br /> ~, the Aot further provides that the compensatiOn of the Clerk shall be paid <br />' three-ftRhs from the City Treasury and two-fiRhs from the Treasury of the County in which the <br /> City is locamt and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for the usual daily <br />operation of a municipal department in that in the interest of public service, welfare, and safety, it is <br />necessary m fix the compensation of the Clerk and direct the time and method of payment thereof; <br /> <br />BErI' ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO <br /> <br /> Segion I. That the compensation of the Clerk of the Lakewood Municipal Court is hereby <br />fixed at Seventy Thousand Thirty Five Dollars per annum effective April 1, 1998. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Director of Fmanco is hereby authorized and directed to pay three- <br />fifths ofthe eompensation of the Cleric az herein fixed, fi~n the City Treasury in semi-monthly or in <br />equal instahnents every two weeks. <br /> <br /> Seeion 3. That Ordinance no. 29-97 adopted July 9, 1998 and all other ordinances or <br />parts ofonfn~mces inconsistent herewith shah be and are hereby repealed. <br /> <br /> Seefiun 4. It is found and determined that all forms! actions of this Council concerning <br />and relnting m the passage of this ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of this Council and <br />that all such deliberation of this Council and any of its committees that resulted in such formal <br />action ~em in meeting open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br /> Section 5. That this ordinance is hereby declared to bean emergency mensure for the <br />reasons stalai in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the affirm~__~ vote of two-thirds of <br />ail members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in for~ immediately upon its adopt/on <br />and appro~ by the Mayor, otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force after the earliest period <br /> <br />M~yor ' <br /> <br /> <br />
