ON 1st READING AND REFERRED <br />FINAN(._ COMMITTEE 9/21/98 <br /> PLACBD ON 2ND RBADING ON 10/5/98. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 48-98 BY:Corrigan, <br /> Flannery, George, Roth, Seelie, Skindell, Smith <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE fixing the compensation of the Probation Officer of the <br />Lakewood Municipal Court and the time and method of payment. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Municipal Court Act, Revised Code Section 1901.33 provides that the <br />le~slafive authority of a municipality shall fix the compensation of the Probation Officer appointed <br />by the Judge of a Mtmidpal Court and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for the usual daily <br />operation of a municipal deparunent in that in the imerest of public service, welfare and safety, it is <br />necessary to fix the compensation of the said Probation Office and direct the time and method of <br />paymmt tlm~fi now, thera~ora, <br /> <br />BE 1T ORDAINED BY THE C1TY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the compensation of the Probation Off[ica- of the Lakewood Municipal <br />Court is ~ fixed at the asgl'e~te mm of Thirty~onr Thousami Nme Hundred Forty Four <br /> <br /> Section 2. Tha~ the Director of lrmance is hereby authorized and directed to pay said <br />compensation of the Probation Officer as han~ fixed, fi'om the City Treasury in semi-monthly <br />~ of equal i~,,,~ every two weeks. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That Ordinan~ No. 30-97 adopted July 9, 1997 and aiL, other ordinances or <br />parts ofo~dk, ances inco~6stent herewith shall be and are here~ z~loealecL <br /> <br /> Section 4. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning <br />and relatinS to the pass~e of this ordinance were adopted in an open meetin~ of this Council, and <br />that ail such deliber~ons of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal <br />actions'were in meetin~ open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br /> Section 5. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for the <br />reasons meed in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the affm~ive vote of two.thirds of <br />ail members eiec~ed to Council, it shall take effect and be in force ~mm~i~?eiy upon its adoption <br />and approval by the Mayor, otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force after the earliest period <br />allowed by law. <br /> <br />Pres/dent <br /> <br /> <br />
