ORDINANCE NO. Z$-gg BY: Comgan, FitzGerald, George Roth, Seelie, Skinclell, Smith AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE. authorizing the Mayor of 'the CiLy of Lakewood, Ohio to enter into an Agreement with the International Association of Firefighters, Local No.382 relative to emergency medical services. WHEREAS, the Administr~on has conducted negotiations with Local 382 of the International Association of Firefighters as the bargaining representative for the members of the Lakewood Division of Fire relative to incorporating em~'gency medical services into the Division of Fire; and WHEREAS, such negotiations have provided a Tentative Agreemem between the parties for the balance of 1999 and 2000; and WHEREAS, said Tentative Agreement has been ratified by the membership of Local 382; and WHEREAS, Council and the Administration have reviewed such proposal and do desire to ratify and adopt such agr~ent; and WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for the immediate preservation of the public safety and welfare and for the usual daily operation of a municipal depamnent; now. therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Seetioa 1. That the Mayor be and is hereby authorized and directed to enter into an Agreemem with Local 382, International Association of Firefighter~ on behalf of the membe~ of the Division of Fire, on the terms and conditions, contained in the Agreement, which is made a pan hereof as though fully rewritten herein, a copy of which is on file in the office of the Director of Law, and as approved by the Director of Law. Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of tiffs Council concern/ng and relating to tha passage ofth/s ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of this Coundl. and that all such deliberations of tlgs Council and any of its committees that resulted in such formal actions, were in meetings open to the public and in compliance with legal requiremems. Section 3. That any and all ordinances in conflict with the expre~ provisions of the Agreement are superseded by this Agreement. Section 4. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the afire'native vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor, otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force afler the earliest period allowed by iaw.
