Placed on 1st Reading & Referred <br />to Finance Gom~itte~ 9/7/99 <br /> <br />Reported out and Placed o 2nd <br />Reading 9/20/99. <br /> <br />OrdinanceNo. 34-99 By: Corrigan, FitzGerald, George, <br /> Roth, Seelie, Skindell, Smith <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to adjust appropriations for expenditures of the Office on <br />Aging IIIB Fund for the fiscal year ending December 31, 1999 and authorizing the Mayor (Director of <br />Public Safety), the Director of Public Works. the Director of Finance, and/or the Procurement Officer to <br />enter into contracts for professional services, in accordance with the Administrative Code of the City of <br />Lakewood to provide physical therapy & occupational therapy and provide home delivered meals through <br />the Passport Program. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure in that it provides for the <br />immediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the usual daily operation of a <br />municipal department, as delay could impair the City's ability to provide necessary services in a timely <br />manner; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, there are funds available sufficient to support the increase in appropriations <br />specified below; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Director of Finance is hereby authorized and directed to increase <br />appropriations in the following fund by the amount stated below: <br /> <br />Office on Aging IIIB Fund <br /> <br />$20,000.00 <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Mayor (Director of Public Safety), the Director of Public Works, the <br />Director of Finance, and/or the Proeuremem Officer be and are hereby authorized and directed to <br />advertise for bids and enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder in accordance with the <br />Administrative Code of the City of Lakewood for the following services, contracts not to exceed the <br />specified amounts shown, except as here in after provided: <br /> <br />Physical and Occupational Therapy <br />Home Delivered Meals (Passport Program) <br /> <br />$8,000.00 <br />$12,000.00 <br /> <br /> Section 3. That the Mayor (Director of Public Safety), the Director of Public Works, the <br />Director of Finance, and/or the Procurement Officer are hereby authorized and directed to enter into <br />contracts as set forth above in amounts not to exceed the specified amounts without further action from <br />Council; and to enter into contracts in excess of specified amounts only upon consent of Council <br />evidenced by adoption of a resolution specifying the authorized amounts. <br /> <br /> Section 4. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and <br />relating to the passage of this ordinance xvere adopted in an open meeting of this Council and that all <br />such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action were in <br />meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br /> Section 5. This ordinance is hereby declared an emergency measure for the reasons stated in <br />the preamble hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to <br />Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approved by the Mayor; <br />otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed by law. <br /> <br />Approved:~ ,.,b~I /~1 <br /> <br /> <br />
