PLACED ON 1ST READING ~ REFERRED TO COMMITTEE <br />OF THE WHOLE 7/17/00. ~LACED ON SECOND READING <br />877700. <br /> <br />ORDINANCENO. 42-00 <br /> <br />BY: Corrigan, FitzGerald, <br />George, Roth, Seelie, Skindell, <br /> Smith. <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to adjust appropriations in the General Fund of the <br />City of Lakewood, State of Ohio, for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2000, to expend funds <br />necessary for the printing and distribution of the proposed second amended Charter. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, an emergency exists to provide for the immediate preservation of the public <br />property, health and safety and to provide for the usual daily operation of municipal departments; <br />and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Ohio Constitution requires the mailing of the proposed second amended <br />Charter to all the electors not less than 30 days prior to the General Election; and, <br /> <br /> ~REAS, projected revenues are sufficient to support the appropriations below; now, <br />therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Director of Finance is hereby authorized and directed to increase <br />appropriations in the following funds by the amounts stated below: <br /> <br />General Fund $ 20,000 <br /> <br />Section 2. That the Director of Finance be and he is hereby authorized to draw checks upon <br />the City depositories for the amounts appropriated in this ordinance whenever claims are <br />presented properly, approved by the head of the department for which the indebtedness is <br />incurred, providing the President of Council shall approve all claims for City Council. <br /> <br />Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and <br />relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and <br />that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such <br />formal action were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br />Section 4. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for the reasons <br />stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all <br />members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its 'adoption <br />and approval by the Mayor; otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force after the earliest period <br />allowed by law. <br /> <br />Adopted: .... e.~'~ ~~) ~~'~. ~' <br /> '~~ ~'~ President of Council <br /> <br /> <br />
