Please substitute for Ordinance No. 23-01 <br />(Placed on 1~ Reading and Referred to <br />Finance Committee 5/7/01, Placed on 2'~ <br />Reading $/21/01.) <br /> <br />Ordinance No. 23-01 By: Corrigan, FitzGerald, George, Roth, <br /> <br /> Seelie, Skindell, Smith. <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE enacting a new section of Chapter 129 of the Administrative Code of <br />the Codified Ordinances of the Qb/ of Lakewood to establish an Equitable Sharing Special <br />Revenue Fund. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, forfeited funds have been received by the City of Lakewood from the U.S. <br />Government in the amount of $17,934.34, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, there is a compelling governmental interest to establish a new Spedal <br />Revenue Fund to segregate financial information that will demonstrate accountability and <br />stewardship of the civil federal forfeiture, now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE TI' ORDAINED BY THE ClTY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Administrative Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of <br />Lakewood is hereby supplemented by enacting a new section of Chapter 129 to read as follows: <br /> <br />Equitable Sharing Special Revenue Fund <br /> <br /> a) NI revenues derived from federal civil forfeitures, including interest <br />income, shall be kept and maintained in a separate fund hereby designated as <br />the Equitable Sharing Spedal Revenue Fund. All expenditures meeting criteria <br />set by the federal government shall be paid from this fund. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Director of Finance is hereby authorized and directed to take the <br />necessary steps to establish said account; to receive funds from the federal government and to <br />make expenditures pursuant to guidelines that govern equitable sharing. <br /> <br /> Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council <br />concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of <br />this Coundl, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that <br />resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal <br />requirements. <br /> <br />Adopted: ~ L~/.'2.0:O/ <br /> <br />Approved <br /> <br />President of Council <br /> <br />MJiy6r .... <br /> <br /> <br />
