PLACED ON 1ST READING & REFEREED TO <br />COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE 2/30/02. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO: 134-02 BY: Corrigan, Dunn, FitzGerald, George, <br /> Roth, Skimdell. <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE adjusting appropriations for expenditures in the <br />General Fund for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2002 for the purpose of building a Dog <br />PanVJRun in the City of Lakewood. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council has already appropriated $10,050 for building a Dog Park/Run <br />in the City of Lakewood; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Fdends for an Ideal Dog Park Off Leash (FIDO) has agreed to raise funds <br />in the amount necessary over the City's $10,050 contribution for building a Dog Park/Run in <br />the City of Lakewood; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council by a vote of at least five (5) members elected thereto <br />determines that this ordinance is an emergency measure, and that this ordinance shall take <br />effect at the eadiest date possible as set forth in ARTICLE III, SECTONS 10 and 13 of the <br />SECOND AMENDED CHARTER OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, and that it is necessary for <br />the immediate preservation of the public property, health and safety, and to provide for the <br />usual daily operation of municipal departments in that this Ordinance is necessary to complete <br />projects planned for the year 2002. Now Therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO <br /> <br /> Section 1. That upon receipt of an executed agreement between the City of <br />Lakewood and Friends for an Ideal Dog Park Off Lease (FIDO) evidencing the <br />obligation of FIDO to raise all funds beyond the City's $10,050 contribution for the Dog <br />Park/Run, the Director of Finance is hereby authorized and directed to increase <br />appropriations in the following fund by the amount stated below: <br /> <br />General Fund $25,000 <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to draw checks <br />upon the City depositories for the amounts appropriated in this ordinance whenever <br />claims are presented, properly approved by the head of the department for which the <br />indebtedness is incurred, providing the President of Council or his/her designees shall <br />approve all claims of the City Council. <br /> <br /> Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council C°nceming <br />and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of this Council <br />and of any of its committees, that resulted in such formal actions, were in meetings open to the <br />public in compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br /> Section 4. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for <br />the reasons set forth and defined in the preamble to this ordinance, and provided it receives <br />the affirmative vote of at least five (5) of its members elected to Council, this ordinance shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption by the Council and approval by the <br />Mayor otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force after the eadiest period allowed by law. <br /> <br /> President of Council ' <br /> <br />· Clerk~C~oI Cour~cil <br /> Mayor '/ <br /> <br /> <br />
