PLACED ON 1ST READING & REFERRED TO THE <br />RULES & ORDINANCES CM~E 2/19]02., <br /> <br />PLACED ON 2ND READING 3/4/02. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 41-02 BY: corrigan, Dunn, FitzGerald, <br /> George, Roth, Seelie, Skindell. <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE to enact new section 537.12, Misuse of 9-1-1 System, of the <br />Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood for the purpose of remaining consistent <br />with the Ohio Revised Code. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, thiS ordinance is necessary for the pUblic health, welfare and safety. <br />Now therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO <br /> <br /> Section 1. That new section 537.12, Misuse of 9-1-1 System, of the Codified <br />Ordinances of the City of Lakewood is herby enacted to read as follows: <br /> <br />537.12 MISUSE OF 9-1-1 SYSTEM. <br /> <br />(a) "9-1-1' system" means a system through which individual~ can request <br />emergency service using the telephone number 9-1-1. <br /> <br />(b) No person shall knowingly use the telephone number of the 9-1-1 system to <br />report an emergency if he knows that no emergency exists. <br /> <br />(c) Whoever violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree. <br /> <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council <br />concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in an open <br />meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberation of the Council and of any of its <br />committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the public in <br />compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br />President of Council <br /> <br />May~r / <br /> / <br /> <br /> <br />
