PLACED ON IST READING & REFERRED TO PUBLIC <br />SAFETY COMMITTEE 3/18/02. <br /> <br />PLACED ON 2ND READING 4/1/02. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 83-02 <br /> <br />BY: Corrigan, Dunn, FitzGerald, George, <br /> Roth, Seelie, Sklmdell. <br /> <br /> An ORDINANCE authorizing the Fire Chief to make a gffi of surplus fire alarm <br />boxes to members of the Lakewood Division of Fire upon their retirement in recognition <br />and in commendation for their years of dedicated public service. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the public service rendered by these retired <br />firefighters be given public cognizance and recognition. These firefighters have served the <br />Lakewood coramanity falthfiflly and loyally, and it is the desire of the City to show our <br />appreciation and commend these public servants; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the fire alarm boxes have been removed, will not be replaced, are <br />surplus to the invemory, have no identifiable trade value and are therefore rendered <br />expendable; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, to these dedicated firefighters, the fire alarm boxes malnt.,'fm a historical <br />si~m~ificance, as well as sentimental value; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is the desire of Lakewood City Council, the Mayor, and the 'Fire <br />Chief to recognize their outstanding service with this token of esteem Now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council and Mayor hereby authorizes the Fire Chief to <br />make a gift of surplus fire alarm boxes to members of the Lakewood Division of Fire upon <br />their retirement in recognition and in commendation for their years of dedicated public <br />service. <br /> <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council <br />concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of <br />this Council, and that all such deht~ratious of this Council and of any of its committees that <br />resulted in such formal actions were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all <br />legal requirements. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br />.I <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />
