Placed on <br />2"~ Reading 11211030 <br /> <br />BY: Corrigan, Dever, Dunn, FitzGerald, <br /> George, Roth, Seelie. <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing and directing the Director of <br />Public Works to advertise for bids and enter into a contract with the lowest and best <br />bidder for Building ami Facilities Improvements in accordance with the <br />Administrative Code of the Ob/of Lakewood, contracts not to exceed the specified <br />amounts shown without separate resoluUon of Coundl. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Coundl by a vote of at least five (5) members elected <br />thereto determines that this ordinance is an emergency measure, and that this <br />ordinance shall take effect at the earliest date po~ible as set forth in ARTICLE <br />SECTONS :tO and 13 of the SECOND AMENDED CHARTER OF THE O'TY OF LAKEWOOD, <br />and that it is necessary for usual daily operation of municipal departments in that <br />certain capital improvements projects are to be undertaken beginning .]anuary 1, 2003 <br />in accordance with the Capital Impmvernent Plan for fiscal year 2003. Now therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE C/TY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO <br /> <br /> · Section 1. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized and <br />directed to advertise for bids and enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder <br />in accordance with the Admini~'uative Code of the Oty of Lakewood, for the following <br />Building and Fadlities Improvements, contracts not to exceed the specified amounts <br />shown, except as hereinafter provided: <br /> <br />City Hall Complex Renovations <br />Winterhurst Renovations <br />Old Stone & Nichoison House <br />Fire Fadlities Renovations <br />Citywide Communications <br />Animal Shelter- Roof <br /> <br />$190,000 <br />150,000 <br />20,000 <br />25,000 <br />15,000 <br />1o, o0o <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized and <br />directed to enter into contracts as set forth above in amounts not to exceed the <br />spedfied amounts without further action from Coundl; and to enter into contracts in <br />excess of specified amounts only upon consent of Coundl evidenced by adoption of a <br />resolution specifying the authorized amount. <br /> <br /> Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this <br />Council concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in an <br />open meeting of this Coundl, and that all such deliberations of this Coundl and of any <br />of its committees that resulted in such foml action were in meetings open to the <br />public in compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br /> Section 4. That this ordinance is hereby dedared to be an emergency measure <br />necessary for the usual daily operation of the City for the reasons set forth and defined <br />in the preamble to this ordinance, and provided it receives the affirmative vote of at <br />least five (5) of its members elected to Coundl, this ordinance shall take effect and be <br /> <br /> <br />
