<br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. 10-03, adopted January
<br />21, 2003 for the purpose of changing and increasing contracting authority for the Mayor
<br />(Director of Public Safety), the Director of Public Works, the Director of Law, the
<br />Director of Finance, and/or the Procurement Officer to enter into contracts for
<br />professional services, and to advertise for bids and enter into contracts for the purchase
<br />of repair maintenance and operating supplies, services and equipment as authorized by
<br />the 2003 Appropriation Ordinance and the Administrative Code of the City of Lakewood
<br />with the lowest and best bidder or bidders or as otherwise provided by law.
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, this Council by a vote of at least five (5) members elected thereto
<br />determines that this ordinance is an emergency measure, and that this ordinance shall
<br />take effect atthe earliest date possible as set forth in ARTICLE III, SECTONS 10 and
<br />13 of the SECOND AMENDED CHARTER OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, and that it is
<br />necessary for the immediate preservation of the public property, health and safety, and
<br />to provide for the usual daily operation of municipal departments in that the increased
<br />contracting authority is necessary to participate in joint purchasing with the Westshore
<br />Council of Governments. Now Therefore,

<br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO

<br /> Section 1. That Ordinance No. 10-03, adopted January 21, 2003, currently
<br />reading as follows:
<br />

<br />Public Works, the Director of Law, the Director of Finance, and/or the
<br />Procurement Officer be and are hereby authorized and directed to enter
<br />into a contract or contracts for supplies, services and equipment with the
<br />lowest and best bidder or bidders or as otherwise provided by law, as
<br />follows:
