BUILDING. <br />Building shall mean any one, two and three family dwelling or portion thereof, including <br />townhouses, that is used, or designed or intended to be used for human habitation, for <br />living, sleeping, cooking or eating purposes, or any combination thereof, and shall <br />include accessory structures thereto. <br /> <br />CONDITIONED AREA. <br />That area within a building provided with heating and/or cooling systems or appliances <br />capable of maintaining, through design or heat loss/gain, 70°F (21°C) dudng the <br />heating season. <br /> <br />DWELLING. <br />Any building that contains one, two or three dwelling units used, intended, or designed <br />to be built, used, rented, leased, let or hired out to be occupied, or that are occupied <br />for living purposes. <br /> <br />HABITABLE SPACE., <br />A space in a building (other than in a basement ) for living, sleeping, eating or cooking. <br />Bathrooms, toilet rooms, closets, halls, storage or utility spaces and similar areas are <br />not considered habitable spaces. <br /> <br />PLUMBING. <br />For the purpose of this code, plumbing refers to those installations, repairs, <br />maintenance and alterations regulated by the current Ohio Plumbing Code, as <br />amended. <br /> <br />STRUCTURE. <br />Anything constructed or erected, the use of which requires either location on the <br />ground or attachment to another structure located on the ground, including but not <br />limited to barriers, bleachers, booths, buildings, platforms, poles, pools, sheds, towers, <br />and walls and shall include the supporting framework or parts thereof and <br />appurtenances thereto. * <br /> <br />TABLE R301.2(1) (Amended). <br /> <br /> CLI'MAT[C & GEOGRAPHZC DES:~GN <br /> CR[TERZA <br />Roof Wind Seismic Subject to Damage From: Winter Flood <br />Snow Speed Design Weathering Frost Termite Decay Design Hazards <br />Load (mph) Category Line Temp <br />(psf) Depth (Fahrenheit) <br />20 90 C Severe 36 Moderate Slight to 0o * <br /> inches to heavy Moderate <br /> <br />*Effective FIRM is 390112-0001B Effective date is 2-1-78 <br /> Date of the jurisdictions entry into the National Flood Insurance Program is: February <br />3rd, 1987 <br /> <br />R302.1 Exterior walls (Amended). <br />Exterior walls with a fire separation distance less than 3 feet (914 mm) shall have not <br />less than a one-hour fire-resistive rating with exposure from both sides. Projections <br />shall not extend beyond the distance determined by the following two methods, <br />whichever results in the lesser projections: <br />1. A point one-third the distance to the property line from an assumed vertical <br />plane located where protected openings are required. <br />2.
