PLACED ON 1ST READING & REFERRED TO THE <br />FINANCE COMMITTEE 6/16/03. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 5 0-0 3 <br /> <br /> BY: <br /> Corrigan, Dever, Dunn, <br />FitzGerald, George, Roth, Seelie. <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE fixing the compensation of the Probation Officer of the Lakewood <br />Municipal Court and the time and method of payment. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Municipal Court Act, Revised Code Section 1901.33 provides that the <br />legislative authority of a municipality shall fix the compensation of the Probation Officer <br />appointed by the Judge of a Municipal Court and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes a measure providing for the usual daily operation of <br />a municipal department in that in the interest of public service, welfare and safety, it is necessary <br />to fix the compensation of the said Probation Office and direct the time and method of payment <br />thereof, now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the compensation of the Probation Officer of the Lakewood Municipal <br />Court is hereby fixed at the aggregate stun of Forty Eight Thousand Six Hundred Twenty Dollars <br />per annum effective April 1, 2003. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Director of Finance is hereby authorized and directed to pay said <br />compensation of the Probation Officer as herein fixed, from the City Treasury in semi-monthly <br />installments of equal installments every two weeks. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That Ordinance No. 126-02 adopted July 16, 2002, and all, other ordinances <br />or parts of ordinances inconsistent herewith shah be and are hereby repealed. <br /> <br /> Section 4. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning <br />and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and <br />that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal <br />actions were in meeting open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br /> Section 5. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be a measure for the reasons stated in <br />the preamble hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members <br />elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval <br />by the Mayor, otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed by <br /> <br />law. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />President <br /> <br /> <br />
