Madigan, Seelie. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE to amend Chapter 1129 - Commercial Districts- of the Zoning Code of the <br />Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the amendments to the Zoning Code promotes the development of and protects <br />existing residential uses found throughout the City thereby protecting property values; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the amendments to the Zoning Code encourages the orderly development and <br />retention of commerciai uses in a manner consistent with the Community Wsion. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CTIY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Section 1. That existing Section 1129.01 - Purpose - of the Codified Ordinances of the <br />City of Lakewood, now reading respectively as follows: <br /> <br />1129.01 PURPOSE <br />Three (3) commercial zoning districts have been established to meet the needs of the community. <br /> <br />shall be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />1129.01 PURPOSE <br />Four (4) commercial zoning districts have been established to meet the needs of the <br />community. <br /> <br />Section 2. That new Subsection 1129.01(d) - Purpose - is hereby enacted to read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />(d) The C4 Public School District is limited to property within the C/tythat is owned <br />by the Lakewood Board of Education at the time of adoption of this Ordinance. This <br />district seeks to preserve and protect the general character of the area and to allow <br />for deveiopment and redevelopment of these properties. Any property designated, <br />as a C4 zoning district shall retain its zoning designation should the Board of <br />Education transfer ownership. Any property located in the C4 zoning district that is <br />not in compliance with the regulations as set forth in Sèhedule 1129.05 requires an <br />amendment to the Zoning Map pursuant to Section 1105.02 prior to transfer. <br /> <br />Section 3.
