<br />AN ORDINANCE to vacate Cohassett Place in the City of Lakewood, Ohio.
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, part of the Board of Education of the Lakewood City Schools ''Designing Oilr Schools Tor
<br />the Next Fifty YearS' school facilities project, the vacation of Cohassett Place is needed to facilitate the
<br />expansion and redevelopment of the current Garfield Elementary School site into a new 700-student middie
<br />school; and
<br />

<br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission at its meeting of October 5, 2004, unanimously voted to
<br />approve the vacation of Cohassett Place In order to facilitate construction of the new 700-student middle
<br />school.
<br />
<br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO:
<br />
<br />Section 1.
<br />
<br />That the following described properties are and the same are hereby vacated:
<br />
<br />Permanent Parcei Number 312-31-058 - property was transferred in 1940 to the Board of Education
<br />and is part of the original Garfield Elementary School property.
<br />
<br />Permanent Parcel Number 312-31-059 - 13114 Detroit Avenue - property was transferred In 1916
<br />to the Board of Education and is part of the original Garfield Elementary School property.
<br />
<br />13027 Hazelwood Avenue. Garfield Elementary School. Currentlv zoned R2. PP#312-31-030 - And
<br />known as being part of Original Rockport Township Section No. 21, and bounded and described as follows:
<br />Beginning on the Southerly line of Hazeiwood Avenue, as dedicated by plat, recorded in Volume 66 of
<br />Maps, Page 1 of Cuyahoga County Records, at a point 726.36 feet Easterly (measured along said Southerly
<br />line) from its point of intersection with the Easterly line of Nicholson Avenue; thence Westerly along the
<br />said Southerly line of Hazelwood Avenue 40.49 feet; thence Southerly line on a line at right angles along
<br />the said Southerly line of Hazelwood Avenue, 94.82 feet to the Southerly line of land conveyed to Adam J.
<br />and Nellie J. Knopf by Deed dated April 11, 1914 and recorded in Volume 1566, Page 76 of Cuyahoga
<br />County Records; thence Easterly along said Southeriy line of land so conveyed to Adam J. and Nellie Knopf,
<br />40.19 feet; thence Northerly 85.82 feet to the place of beginning and being further known as Sublot No. 20
<br />in the H. and G. Building Company's proposed Allotment of part of Original Rockport Township Section No.
<br />21, be the same more or less but subject to all legal highways.

<br />Detroit Avenue (66 feet wide) at its intersection with the Easterly line of land conveyed to the Board of
<br />Education of the Village School District of Lakewood, Ohio, about 150 feet to the Southerly line of land
<br />conveyed to John F. Bond and Opal B. Bond by deed dated February 15, 1924 and recorded in Volume
<br />2922, Page 530 of Cuyahoga County Records; Thence Easterly aiong the Southerly line of land so
<br />conveyed to John F. Bond and Opal B. Bond, about 47 feet to the Westerly line of land conveyed to the City
<br />of Lakewood by deed dated June 15, 1927 and recorded in Volume 3568, Page 159 of Cuyahoga County
<br />Records; Thence Southerly along said Westeriy line of land so conveyed to the City of Lakewood about

<br />the Northeasterly line of Detroit Avenue, 66 feet wide, at the most Southerly corner of said Sublot No.1,
