<br />AN ORDINANCE to take effect immediately provided it received the affirmative vote of
<br />at least five (5) members elected to Council otherwise, it sball take effect and be in force after the
<br />earliest period allowed by law, amending Ordinance 114-0SB, adopted May I, 2006 for the
<br />purpose of adding contrácting authority for the Mayor (Director of Public Safety), the Director of
<br />Public Works, the Director of Law, the Director of Finance, and/or the Purchasing Manager to
<br />enter into contracts for professional services, and to advertise for bids and enter into contracts for
<br />the purchase of repair maintenance and operating supplies, services and equipment as authorized
<br />by the 2006 Appropriatiou Ordinance and the Administrative Code ofthe City ofLakewood with
<br />the lowest and best bidder or bidders or as otherwise provided by law
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, this Councíl by a vote of at least five (5) members elected thereto determines
<br />that this ordinance is an emergency measure, and that tills ordinance shall take effect at the earliest
<br />date possible as set forth in ARTICLE III, SECTIONS 10 and 13 of the SECOND AMMENDED
<br />CHARTER OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, and that it is necessary to provide for theusual
<br />daily operation of municipal departments in that delay could impair the City's ability to provide
<br />necessary services in a timely manner Now, therefore,
<br />
<br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OIDO
<br />
<br />Section I That Ordinance No 114-05B, adopted May I, 2006, currently reading as
<br />follows'
<br />
<br />Section l.That the Mayor (Director of Public Safety), the Director of Public
<br />Works, the Director of Law, the Director of Finance, and/or the Procurement
<br />Officer be and are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract or
<br />contracts for supplies, services and equipment with the lowest and best bidder or
<br />bidders or as otherwise provided by law, as follows:
