<br />be and is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />113.04 FAIR EMPLOYMENT WAGE BOARD. <br />(a) The Fair Employment Wage Board (FEWB) shall review the effectiveness <br />of the living wage ordinance to ensure that the community is informed on whether <br />those companies that are being awarded service contracts by the City are qdhering to <br />the ordinance. The FEWB shqll make recommendqtions to the Administration and <br />Lakewood City Council, when appropriate, regqrding issues pertaining to the living wage <br />policy. <br /> <br />(b) The FEWB shall be composed of two (2) represcntatives from thc bu~inc~s <br />cemmunity, two (2) rcprcscnmtivcs from Iqeer erganizatioRS; eRe ~1) r<:prcscntativc <br />f-rem cemmunity groups, onc (1) rcprcscR£6tive from thc ~1ayor s office aRe (1) <br />rcprcscntative fmm City Council. Each FEWB mcmbcr shall bc a rcsidcnt ef thc City of Lalc<:woee. seven (7) <br />members, six of who shall be electors of the City, the seventh member shalt <br />be a representative of the Mayor's administration. Three members of the <br />Board shalt be appointees of the Mayor, and three members shall be <br />appointees of Council. The Mayor and Council shalt appoint one appointee <br />from the business community, a labor organization, and a community group. <br />The appointing authority of a Board member may remove that member for <br />cause. No person shall be appointed to the FEWB who has any interest in a contract <br />with the City of Lakewood. <br /> <br />(c) The Mayor shall initi¡¡lIy appoint three (3) members of the FEWB for one- <br />year terms, two (2) members for two (2) year terms, and two (2) members for a three <br />(~) year term. Thereafter, all members shall serve three-year terms, including the <br />representative from City Council. Appointees named after June 1, 2005, shall be <br />appointed alternately by the Mayor and Council as existing Board member's <br />terms expire, with Council having the first appointment. Members may serve <br />more than one term. <br /> <br />(d) At the beginning of each year the FEWB members shall. elect a <br />chairperson and vice-chairperson by majority vote. The FEWB shall hold mcctings <br />E uart<:rly semi-annual meetings and in special sessions as called by the chairperson <br />or by a majority of the members. All meetings of the FEWB shall be open to the public <br />and minutes shall be taken. An employee of the City of Lakewood shall be assigned to <br />serve as secretary to the FEWB. <br /> <br />(e) The FEWB shall be provided with and shall review: <br />(1) All reports on compliance filed by the Applicable Department qS <br />provided by this Chapter; <br />(2) The results of any investigations of Covered Employers as provided <br />by this Chapter; <br />(3) All applications for exemptions from coverage filed by Service <br />Contractors as provided by this Chapter. <br />The FEWB shall provide recommendations regarding such matters to City <br />Council. <br /> <br />Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Councii <br />concerning and relating to the passage of this Ordinance were passed in an open <br />
