PLACED ON 2ND READING 5/2/05 <br /> <br />Ordinance No. 30-05 By: . <br />Corr~gan, Demro, Dever, Dunn, FitzGerald, <br />Madigan, Seelie. <br />An Ordinance to amend Section 1306,44, License APPlication Form and Fee, of <br /> <br />the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood for the purpose of changing certain <br /> <br />fees charged by the City of Lakewood. <br /> <br />Whereas, the City wishes to attract iarge-scale development; and <br /> <br />Whereas, in order to compete for and to attract large-scale development, the city <br />rtJust have a competitive fee structure; and <br /> <br />Whereas, competitive fee structures wiH keep the cost of doing business in <br />Lak~wood equitable, <br /> <br />Whereas, after a comprehensive review of our permit fee structure and an <br />analysis of our neighboring communities fee structures, the Administration is <br />recommending the elimination, lowering and increase of various fees; and <br /> <br />Whereas, these adjustments will result in the stimulation and furthering of <br />economic activity, especially in the area of new construction. Now therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAIN,ED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Section 1. That Section 1306.44, License Application Form and Fèe, of the <br />Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood, currently reading as follows: <br /> <br />1306.44 LICENSE APPLICATION FORM AND FEE. <br />(a) Every application for a housing license shall be on a form approved by the <br />of{icial cnarged with the enforcement of this Code. It shall statè the name and address <br />of the applicant, the nature and extent of his Interest in the building for which the <br />lid~nse is required, the name and address of the owner of the building, the location of <br />the building, the number of rooms therein, the number of dwelling units therein, the <br />number of rooming units therein and such other information as may be ,required by the <br />official charged with the enforcement of the Code. ' <br /> <br />(b) The housing license fees shall be as follows: owner-occupied <br />condominium units - two dollars ($2.00); nonowner-occupied condominium units - six <br />dollars ($6,00); owner-occupied three-family dwellings - twenty-five dollårs ($25.00); all <br />other structures requiring housing licenses pursuant to Section 1306.43- twenty.seven <br />dollars and fifty cents ($27.50) per dwelling unit or rooming unit. <br /> <br />(c) Housing license fees shall be forthe purpose of paying the cost of periodic <br />inspection and in no case shall the fee provided for herein be less than twenty-seven <br />dollars and fifty cents ($27.50) per building nor more than: <br />Multiple-family Þuildings and rooming units in which individual suites and/or <br />rooms must be inspected - two thousand seven hundred fifty dollars ($2,750); <br />Condominium buildings in which common areas, including exteriors, win be <br />inspected - one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500). <br /> <br />(d) No housing license shall be required for iawful one and two-family <br />structures occupied by the owners as the owner's principal residence. <br /> <br />(e) Any housing license required pursuant to Section 1306.43 not secured by <br />the applicable dates stated in Section 1306.47(a) and (b) shall incur a late fee of fifty <br />dollars ($SO.OO) per structure for which the housing license is required. <br />
