<br />¡<\I <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 53-05 <br /> <br />BY: Demro, Dever, Dunn, FitzGerald, <br />Madigan, Seelie. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE creating the Start-A-Heart Committee for the purpose of <br />overseeing the expansion and future implementation of the Automated External <br />Defibrillator Public Access Program (AED Program) within the City of lakewood. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Administration has been working closely With the lakewood <br />Hospital Foundation to expand the current AED Program within the City of lakewOod; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Lakewood Hospital Foundation has committed $25,000 for the <br />purchase of AED's, equiþment and training; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the lakewood Foundation, a not-for-profit corporations has agreed to <br />act as fiscal agent to ajlow for fund raising for the purpose of expanding the AED <br />Program; and <br /> <br />WEHREAS, the Administration would like to create a committee to oversee the <br />expansion and future implementation of this program. Now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD; STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Section 2. The Start-A"Heart Committee shall be composed of the Fire Chief, <br />Paramedic Supervisor who is assigned to the AED Program, the Assistant Director of <br />Finance, an Assistant Director of law, Lakewood Hospital's Emergency Department <br />Medical Director, and two other members appointed by the lakewood Hospital <br />Foundation. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />¡ <br /> <br />Section 1. That the Start-A-Heart Committee is hereby established for the <br />expansion and oversight of the Automated External Defibrillator Public Access Program <br />(AED Program) within the City of lakewood. <br /> <br />Section 3. In addition to being a voting member of the CQmmittee, the <br />Emergency Department's Medical Director shall be responsible for medical oversight of <br />the AED Program. <br /> <br />Section 4. The Start"A-Heart Committee shall be responsible for all decisions <br />regarding the purchase and placement of AED's within the City, purchase and <br />distribution of supplies for tne AED Program and training related to the use and <br />operation of the AED's, and any other related tasks related to the AED Program. <br /> <br />Section 5. The lakewood Foundation, a not-for-profit corporation, shall act as <br />Fiscal Agent for the Committee. <br /> <br />Section 6. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this council <br />concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in an open <br />meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its <br /> <br />committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the public in <br />compliance with all legal requirements. <br />
