<br />915.03 HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION. <br /> <br />There is hereby established a Special Homestead exemption whereby <br />water rates charged to homesteads owned by person 65 years of ageo! older or <br />owned by a permanently or totally disabled person, provided that such person's <br />income falls below the income criteria as established by o.hio KC. 323.152 and <br />amendments thereto, shall be sixty-five percent (65%) of the water rate <br />established pursuant to this chapter. <br /> <br />Shall be and is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />915.01 ESTABLISHMENT OF RATES. <br /> <br />The Director of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to <br />establish water rates charged monthly by the Lakewood Division of Water and <br />Wastewater Collections as follows: <br /> <br />(a) Effective January 1,2006, all water used during each one month billing <br />period shall cost not more than three and eighty-five hundredths dollars ($3.85) <br />per one hundred cubic feet of water. <br /> <br />(b) Effective January I, 2007, all water used during each one month billing <br />period shall cost not more than four and seventy-five hundredths dollars ($4.75) <br />per -one hundred cubic feet <br /> <br />(c) Effective January I; 2008, all water used during each one month billing <br />period shall cost not more than four and ninety-nine hundredths dollars ($4.99) <br />per one hundred cubic feet. <br /> <br />915.02 CUSTOMER SERVICE CHARGE. <br /> <br />There is hereby established a monthly water-customer service charge to be <br />charged by the Lakewood Division of Water and Wastewater Collection as <br />follows: <br /> <br />(b) Effective January 1,2006, the monthly customer service charge shall <br />be $1.50 <br /> <br />(c) Effective January I, 2007, and thereafter, the monthly customer service <br />charge will be $0 <br /> <br />915.03 Ho.MESTEAD EXEMPTION. <br /> <br />There is hereby established a Special Homestead exemption whereby <br />water rates charged to homesteads owned by person 65 years of age or older or <br />owned by a permanently or totally disabled person, provided that such person's <br />income falls below the income criteria as established by o.hio R.C. 323.152 and <br />amendments thereto, shall be fifty-five percent (55%) of the water rate established <br />pursuant to this chapter. <br /> <br />Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council <br />concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in an open meeting <br />of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its <br />committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the-public in <br />compliance with all legal requirements. <br />
