373.04 LICENSE REQUIRED. <br /> <br />No person who resides within the City, shall ride or propel a bicycle upon any <br />sidewalk, street, public path or public way set aside for the exclusive ~se of bicy- <br />cles unless such bicycle has been licensed by the Chief of Police and the license <br />plate or decal is attached thereto as provided herein: <br /> <br />This provision shall not apply to any bicycles in transit within the City; provided <br />that such bicycles have been registered in some other municipality in accordance <br />w/th the terms of an ordinance similax to the foregoing if such exists, or if the <br />owner is a resident of another community. (Ord. 35-67 Passed 6-5-67.) <br /> <br />373.05 LICENSE APPLICATION <br /> <br />Application for registration of a bicycle shall be made to the Chief of Police upon <br />forms provided by 14m, which shall contain the name and address of the applicant <br />and the name, color and serial number or other identifying marks of the bicycle <br />and other information as the Chief of Police shall deem pertinent: <br /> <br />All licenses sold before or aPter May 1, 1984, shall be effective for as long as the <br />applicant for such license remains the owner of the bicycle. The cost of such li- <br />cense shall be t~vo dollars ($2~00). (Ord. 47-84 Passed 4-16-84.) <br /> <br />373.06 ISSUANCE OF LICENSE. <br /> <br />(a) The Chief of Police upon receipt of the proper application accompanied by <br />the required fee, is authorized to issue a bicycle license which shall be effective <br />for as long as the applicant remains the owner of such bicycle. (Ord. 47-84. <br />Passed 4-16-84,) <br /> <br />(b) The Chief of Police shall not issue a license for any bicycle when he lmows <br />or has reasonable grounds to believe that the applicant is not the owner or entitled <br />to the possession of such bicycle or that such bicycle is not in safe operating con- <br />dition. <br /> <br />(c) The Chief of Police shall keep a record of the number of each license, the <br />date issued, the name and address of the person to whom issued, the name and <br />address of the owner's parents or guardian if the owner is a minor and the name <br />of the manufacturer, color, serial number or other identify/ng marks of the bicy- <br />cle for which issued, and other information as the Chief of Police shall deem per- <br />tinent, and a record of all bicycle license fees collected by him.
