373.04 LICENSE REQUIRED. No person who resides within the City, shall ride or propel a bicycle upon any sidewalk, street, public path or public way set aside for the exclusive ~se of bicy- cles unless such bicycle has been licensed by the Chief of Police and the license plate or decal is attached thereto as provided herein: This provision shall not apply to any bicycles in transit within the City; provided that such bicycles have been registered in some other municipality in accordance w/th the terms of an ordinance similax to the foregoing if such exists, or if the owner is a resident of another community. (Ord. 35-67 Passed 6-5-67.) 373.05 LICENSE APPLICATION Application for registration of a bicycle shall be made to the Chief of Police upon forms provided by 14m, which shall contain the name and address of the applicant and the name, color and serial number or other identifying marks of the bicycle and other information as the Chief of Police shall deem pertinent: All licenses sold before or aPter May 1, 1984, shall be effective for as long as the applicant for such license remains the owner of the bicycle. The cost of such li- cense shall be t~vo dollars ($2~00). (Ord. 47-84 Passed 4-16-84.) 373.06 ISSUANCE OF LICENSE. (a) The Chief of Police upon receipt of the proper application accompanied by the required fee, is authorized to issue a bicycle license which shall be effective for as long as the applicant remains the owner of such bicycle. Passed 4-16-84,) (b) The Chief of Police shall not issue a license for any bicycle when he lmows or has reasonable grounds to believe that the applicant is not the owner or entitled to the possession of such bicycle or that such bicycle is not in safe operating con- dition. (c) The Chief of Police shall keep a record of the number of each license, the date issued, the name and address of the person to whom issued, the name and address of the owner's parents or guardian if the owner is a minor and the name of the manufacturer, color, serial number or other identify/ng marks of the bicy- cle for which issued, and other information as the Chief of Police shall deem per- tinent, and a record of all bicycle license fees collected by him.
