In the event a licensed bicycle is stolen and recovered, and the l~cense plate or de- <br />cal is destroyed or defaced, the owner shall be issued a new license plate or decal <br />without the payment of a fee. (Ord. 47-84 Passed 4-16-84.) <br /> <br />373.11 TRANSFERABILITY OF OWNERSHIP. <br /> <br />Upon the sale or other transfer of a licensed bicycle the licensee shall remove the <br />lice~nse plate or decal and shall destroy the same. (Ord. 35-67. Passed 6-5-67) <br /> <br />373.12 RENTAL AGENCIES. <br /> <br />A rental agency operating within the City shall not rent or offer any bicycle for <br />rent unless the bicycle is licensed and a license plate or decal is attached, as pro- <br />vided herein, and such bicycle is equipped with the lamps and the other ecluip- <br />raent required by this chapter and is in safe operating condition. (Ord 35-67. <br />Passed 6-5-67.) <br /> <br />373.13 TRAFFIC CODE APPLICATION, <br /> <br />Every person riding a bicycle upon a street shall be granted all of the rights and <br />shall be subject to all of the duties applicable to the driver of a vehicle by the laws <br />of this State, or by the Traffic Code of this City, applicable to the driver of a vehi- <br />cle, except as to special regulations in this chapter and except as to those provi- <br />sions of laws and ordinances which by their nature can have no application. (OrCl. <br />9-64. Passed 2-3-64.) <br /> <br />373.14 OBEDIENCE TO TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES. <br /> <br />(a) Any person operating a bicycle shall obey the instructions of official traffic <br />control signals, signs and other control devices applicable to vehicles, unless oth- <br />erwise directed by a police officer. <br /> <br />(b) Whenever authorized signs are erected that no right or left or "U" turns are <br />permitted, no person operating a bicycle shall disobey the direction of any such <br />sign, except where such person dismounts from the bicycle to make any such turn, <br />in which event such person shall then obey the regulations applicable to pedestri- <br />ans. (Ord. 9-64. Passed 2-3-64.) <br /> <br />373.15 RIDING REGULATIONS. <br /> <br />It shall be legal to ride a bicycle upon a sidewalk, street or public way, or upon <br />any path set aside for the exclusive use of bicycles, subject to the following: <br /> <br />(a) Every person operating a bicycle upon a roadway sh~ll ride as neax to the right <br />side of the roadway as practicable obeying all traffic rules applicable to vehicles <br />and exercising due Care when passing a standing vehicle or one proceeding in the <br /> <br /> <br />
