<br />PLACED ON 1ST READING & REFERRED TO THE <br />RULES & ORDINANCES COMMITTEE 9j4j07. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 75-07 BY: PLACED ON 2ND READING,REPORTED OUT ON <br />AND RECOMMENDED FOR ADOPTION 9/17/07. <br />An.tónio, Butler~ Demro'-~åvegra~ Seelie. <br />Fitz~era~d, Ma l 11, <br />AN ORDINANCE to create a new section within Chapter 144, Civil Service <br />Commission, of the Codified Ordinances of the City of lakewood to remove the <br />Lakewood City Schooi District from the jurisdiction of the City of lakewood Civil <br />Service Commission. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this ordinance is necessary in that Ohio Revised Code Section <br />124.011 requires the City of lakewood Civil Service Commission to serve as the <br />Civil Service Commission of the lakewood school district; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, members of the lakewood City School Board have passed a <br />resolution requesting the removal of the school district from the jurisdiction of <br />the Civil Service Commission; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, correspondence from the lakewood City School was sent to <br />the City Council of the City of lakewood requesting permission to be removed <br />from the jurisdictiqn of the Civil Service Commission. Now, therefore <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Section 1. That a new Section within Chapter 144, Civil Service <br />Commission, of the Codified Ordinances of the City of lakewood is hereby <br />created to read as follows: <br /> <br />144.XX JURISDICTION OF THE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION <br /> <br />(a) The lakewood Civil Service Commission shall no longer serve as the civil <br />service commission for the lakewood City School District, including for the <br />purposes of examinations and creation of certified eiigible lists. <br /> <br />(b) Subsection (a) hereof is specifically intended to supersede State Code <br />provisions on the requirement of the Civil Service Commission to serve as <br />the commission for the Lakewood City School District. <br /> <br />Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this <br />Council concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in <br />an Open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council <br />and .of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings <br />open to the public in compliance with all. legal requirements. <br /> <br />Adopted: ()¡f~. ).00] <br /> <br />~.~ <br /> <br />PRESIDENT <br /> <br />Approved: ~. f),aPo7 <br /> <br />1tJ aA J 7.
