ORDINANCE NO: 98-07C <br />$y; Antonio, Bullock, Butler, <br />Dever, Madigan, Powers, Summers. <br />AN ORDINANCE to take effect immediately provided it receives the affirmative vote of at least <br />five (5) members elected to Council otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force after the <br />earliest period allowed by law, amending Ordinance 98-07B, adopted March 17, 2008 for the <br />purpose of adding, deleting, and increasing contracting authority for the Mayor (Director of <br />Public Safety), the Director of Public Works, the Director of Law, the Director of Finance, and/or <br />the Purchasing Manager to enter into contracts for professional services, and to advertise for bids <br />and enter into contracts for the purchase of repair maintenance and operating supplies, services <br />and equipment as authorized by the 2008 Appropriation Ordinance and the Administrative Code <br />of the City of Lakewood with the lowest and best bidder or bidders. or as otherwise provided by <br />law. <br />WHEREAS, this Council desires to provide the authorization to the Mayor (Director of Public <br />Safety), the Director of Public Works, the Director of Law, the Director of Finance, and/or the <br />Purchasing Manager to enter into contracts for professional services, and to advertise for bids and <br />enter into contracts for the purchase of repair maintenance and operating supplies, services and <br />equipment as authorized by the 2008 Appropriation Ordinance and the Administrative Code of <br />the City of Lakewood with the lowest and best bidder or bidders or as otherwise provided bylaw, <br />and <br />WHEREAS, this Council by a vote of at least five (5) members elected thereto determines that <br />this ordinance is an emergency measure, and that this ordinance shall take effect at the earliest <br />date possible as set forth in ARTICLE III, SECTIONS 10 and 13 of the SECOND AMMENDED <br />CHARTER OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, and that it is necessary to provide for the usual <br />daily operation of municipal departments in that delay could impair the City's ability to provide <br />necessary services in a timely manner, now, therefore, <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO <br />Section 1. That Ordinance No. 98-07B, adopted March 17, 2008, currently <br />reading as follows: <br />Section 1.That the Mayor (Director of Public Safety), the Director of Public Works, <br />the Director of Law, the Director of Finance, and/or the Purchasing Manager be and <br />are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract or contracts for supplies, <br />services and equipment with the lowest and best bidder or bidders or as otherwise <br />provided by law, as follows: <br />
