<br />PLAC;;D o¡; IS::: RE'JJI',G & PEFEF.RrD Tv TH;; <br />Fn:ANCE C8MMTTT:':E I /22 .'08 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />2-::;8 <br /> <br />BY: <br />tnt~niùs B~ll~cks Burleî, Dever, <br />PnweLs, Sum~ers. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE to take effect immediately provided it rece.ives the <br />affirmative vote of at least five (5) members elected to Council otherwise, it shall <br />take effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed by law, repealing <br />Section 149.112, Perfect Attendance Bonus, of the Codified Ordinances of the <br />City of Lakewood. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, due to the fiscal challenges that the City is facing in 2008, it is <br />necessary to reduce expenditures at all levels; and <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />L <br /> <br />¡ <br />I <br />! <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council by a vote of at least five (5) members elected thereto <br />determines that this ordinance is an emergency measure, and that this ordinance shall <br />take effect at the earliest date possible as set forth in ARTICLE III, SECTONS 10 and <br />13 of the SECOND AMENDED CHARTER OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, and that it is <br />necessary for the immediate preservation of the public property, health and safety, and <br />to provide for the usual daily operation of municipal departments in that the City must <br />adopt its annual appropriations legislation no later than March 31, 2008. Now <br />Therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Section 1. That Section 149.112, Perfect Attendance Bonus, of the <br />Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood, currently reading as follows: <br /> <br />149.112 PERFECT ATTENDANCE BONUS. <br /> <br />Effective January 1, 2002, all full-time, permanent employees and annual salaried <br />employees not covered by a collective bargaining agreement with the City, who <br />complete any calendar quarter with perfect attendance shall be entitled to a bonus <br />payment equivalent to the greater of eight (8) hours of pay at their current rate of pay <br />or $100.00. However, no bonus paid shall be more than $200.00. For purposes of this <br />section, an employee shall be considered to have perfect attendance if said employee <br />has no time absent whatsoever in the calendar quarter attributed to an unpaid absence <br />(except approved FMLA Leave) or the use of paid sick leave during the quarter.
