<br />PLACED ON ls` READING & REFERRED TO THE <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE 3/15/10, 2ND READING <br />4/5/10. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 29-10 BY: Antonio, Bullock, Butler, <br />Madigan, Powers, Smith, Summers. <br />AN ORDINANCE authorizing the Mayor; on behalf of the City of Lakewood, to sell <br />and transfer title to a City owned access drive between the Joseph A. Misencik Funeral <br />Home at 12500 Madison Avenue and 1645 Lakewood Avenue. The sale and transfer of <br />title would be made to William and Lucy Greaney, the owners of the Joseph A. Misencik <br />Funeral Home, for the purchase price of Eight Thousand Dollars ($8,000). <br />WHEREAS, the Joseph. A. Misencik Funeral Home is a Lakewood business and <br />desires to expand their parking lot capacity; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood is the owner of this access drive located to the <br />north of and adjacent to 12500 Madison Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio, a legal description of <br />which is attached as °Exhibit A"; and <br />WHEREAS, a properly appraisal and professional survey were conducted and the <br />Director of Public Works and. department of engineering have verified that said parcel is <br />not being used by the City of Lakewood, but yet the City maintains the cost of <br />maintaining said parcel; and <br />WHEREAS, said parcel serves as an access drive for ingress and egress to the <br />Fedor Manor located at 12400 Madison; and <br />WHEREAS, as a condition of the sale, upon transfer to William and Lucy Greaney, <br />the eastern most portion of this existing access drive, consisting of approximately <br />seventeen (17) feet, will be divided off, sold and transferred to SS. Cyril and Methodius <br />Haven, Inc., owner of the Fedor Manor; and <br />WHEREAS, the sale of this portion of land to Fedor Manor will expand the <br />usefulness of the Fedor Manor's parking lot and will provide better ingress and egress <br />for Lakewood's safety forces to their building; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood Fire Department has reviewed the consolidation <br />plan and has verified that the ingress, egress, and access that will remain to the Fedor <br />Manor will adequately accommodate the needs of the public safety forces, including the <br />access requirements of the fire apparatus vehicles and equipment; and <br />WHEREAS, William and Lucy Greaney have also purchased property located at <br />1645 Lakewood Avenue, to the north of the Joseph A. Misencik Funeral Home, to create <br />more parking for the funeral home. Now, therefore <br /> <br />
