parochial schools; the League of Women Voters; and the Lakewood Women's Club; and <br />one citizen appointed by the Mayor, with the approval of Council, for a term of one <br />year, from each of the four wards in the City. <br />(Ord. 4700. Passed 9-18-50.) <br />305.02 CHAIRMAN; REMOVAL OF COMMISSION MEMBERS. <br />The Chairman of the Commission shall be appointed by the Mayor, with the <br />approval of Council, for the term of one year, from among the citizen members <br />representative of the four wards. In the event the Chairman or any member <br />representative of the four wards fails to function as a member of the Commission, the <br />Chairman or member may be removed by the Mayor. All members of the Commission <br />shall serve in such capacity without compensation. <br />(Ord. 4700. Passed 9-18-50.) <br />305.03 MEETINGS; EXPENSES. <br />The Commission shall hold regular meetings quarterly in each calendar year on <br />such date and at such place as it shall determine. Special meetings may be called by <br />the Chairman or by any two members of the Commission. Subject to and within the <br />limitations of any appropriation made by Council therefor, the Commission may incur <br />such reasonable and necessary expenses as may be approved by the Mayor, (Ord. <br />4700. Passed 9-18-50.) <br />305.04 DUTIES. <br />The functions, authority and duties of the Commission shall be: to conduct. a <br />continuing study and survey of traffic, safety and parking conditions, the adequacy of <br />present traffic ordinances, school traffic and safety education and pedestrian safety; to <br />correlate and extend public informational activities with regard to traffic, safety, <br />enforcement of traffic regulations, parking problems and regulation, and adaption of <br />modern engineering practices to the problems of congestion, accidents and traffic <br />control; to initiate a permanent educational safety program; and to recommend <br />appropriate remedial action to the Mayor and Council. <br />(Ord. 4700. Passed 9-18-50.) <br />Is hereby repealed. <br />Section 4. That this ordinance shall be effective August 1, 2010. <br />Section 5. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council <br />concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in an open <br />meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberation of the Council and of any of its <br />committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the public in <br />compliance with all legal requirements. <br />36 <br />
