Marginal Road, and South Marginal Road, are hereby designated as through highways <br />provided that stop signs shall be erected by the Director of Public Safety at all <br />intersections with such through highways, excepting those intersections otherwise <br />designated hereinafter as stop intersections. However, where two or more through <br />highways intersect and no traffic control signal is in operation, stop signs shall be <br />erected at one or more entrances thereto by the Director of Public Safety. <br />(Ord. 10-80. Passed 2-4-80.) <br />(b) Other streets or highways or portions thereof within the Municipality, with <br />a continuous length of more than one mile between the limits of such street or highway <br />or portion thereof, at the entrances to which vehicular traffic from the majority of <br />intersecting streets or highways is controlled by "stop" or "yield" signs or traffic control <br />signals are hereby designated as through streets or highways. For purposes of this <br />section, the limits of such street or highway or portion thereof shall be a municipal <br />corporation line, the physical terminus of the street or highway or any point on such <br />street or highway at which vehicular traffic thereon is required by regulatory signs to <br />stop or yield to traffic on the intersecting street, provided that in residence districts the <br />Municipality may erect either stop signs or other official traffic control devices at an <br />intersecting street and thereafter designate by ordinance or rule such street or highway <br />or portion thereof not to be a through street or highway. <br />(c) The Director of Public Safety shall erect stop signs or yield signs on all <br />streets intersecting such through highways, except as otherwise herein specifically <br />provided, and shall also erect stop signs at one or more entrances to any intersection <br />designated as a stop intersection by the terms of this Traffic Code. <br />(Ord. 4830. Passed 4-21-52.) <br />(d) The following additional intersections are hereby designated as stop <br />intersections at which the Director of Public Safety is authorized and directed to erect <br />stop signs as specified: <br />Margaret Avenue and Carabel Avenue with a stop sign on Margaret Avenue; <br />Margaret Avenue and Woodward Avenue with a stop sign on Margaret Avenue; <br />Lakewood Heights Boulevard and Riverside Drive with a stop sign on Lakewood Heights <br />Boulevard; Delaware Avenue and Hilliard Road with a stop sign on Delaware Avenue; <br />Athens Avenue and Carabel Avenue with a stop sign on Athens Avenue; Spring Garden <br />Avenue and Franklin Avenue with stop signs on Spring Garden Avenue; Spring Garden <br />Avenue and Archdale Avenue with stop signs on Spring Garden Avenue; and Spring <br />Garden Avenue and Fries Avenue with stop signs on Spring Garden Avenue. <br />(Ord. 23-70. Passed 4-6-70.) <br />(e) Every stop sign shall bear the word "stop" in letters not less than six inches <br />in height. Every stop sign shall be located as near as practicable at the property line of <br />the street or highway at the entrance to which the stop must be made, or at the <br />nearest line of the crosswalk thereat, or, if none, at the nearest line of the roadway. <br />(ORC 4511.65; Ord. 85-78.
