Employees selected through these procedures shall obtain and <br />retain all other rights attributed to the classified service, following <br />successful completion of the probationary period. <br />(3) If any firefighter is hired under the lateral entry process, at least the <br />next three (3) hires must be made from the Civil Service Entry Level <br />Certified Eligible List. <br />(4) If a layoff list exists then the appointment will be subject to the City of <br />Lakewood Civil Service Rules and Regulations and the Collective <br />bargaining Agreement. <br />(5) The Civil Service Commission is authorized to promulgate rules and <br />procedures for the administration of the test and selection methodology of <br />both methods of original appointment not inconsistent with this section. <br />(b) Subsection (a) hereof is specifically intended to supersede State Code for <br />original appointments to firefighter positions in the Division of Fire. <br />Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this <br />Council concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in <br />an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council <br />and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings <br />open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements. <br />Adopted: (~(~i2~..1t~.2oia <br />Approved: l~' ~~~~ <br />C-'~~ .G~ <br />PRESIDENT <br />,~ rfl~cc_ 7•~~~e~r-- <br />CLER <br />MAYOR <br />
